Michael Hatch has been working with glass since the early 1990. The first few years were spent in Santa Fe, New Mexico at Tesuque Glassworks.
In 1998 he founded Crucible Glassworks in Asheville, NC. In 2015, Michael and his wife Hilary opened their new location in Weaverville NC, a small town mountain destination near the Blue Ridge Parkway just outside Asheville. There, Michael will work on his glass but also host workshops and offer private instructions.
Both Michael and Hilary want to create a neighborhood appeal in the new location with a rural influence. “We’re right off the main street, but you feel like you’re in the middle of the country,” says Hilary, “that idea is that anybody can come in and be among friends in a welcoming environment.”
